Health & Breed Information
French Bulldog Care Basics
Can French Bulldogs swim?
French Bulldogs should never be considered natural swimmers. Because of their compact build and facial structure, they may struggle to stay afloat and should always be closely supervised around pools, lakes, and other bodies of water. A properly fitted life jacket is strongly recommended near water.
What does brachycephalic mean?
French Bulldogs are a brachycephalic breed, meaning they have a shorter muzzle and facial structure. This is part of their signature look, but it also means families should be mindful of breathing, temperature regulation, and avoiding overexertion.
Are French Bulldogs sensitive to heat?
Yes. French Bulldogs can be more sensitive to heat than many other breeds. They should have access to shade, fresh water, and air conditioning when needed. Outdoor play and walks should be limited during hot weather.
Are French Bulldogs expensive to maintain?
French Bulldogs, like all dogs, require routine veterinary care, quality nutrition, preventative care, and preparation for unexpected expenses. Responsible ownership includes planning for your puppy’s care throughout their lifetime.
Should I spay or neuter my puppy?
Spay and neuter timing should be discussed with your veterinarian. Recommendations may vary depending on your puppy’s health, development, and individual circumstances.
What veterinary care will my puppy need?
Your puppy will need routine wellness exams, vaccinations, parasite prevention, dental care, and continued veterinary support as they grow. We recommend establishing a relationship with a trusted veterinarian before bringing your puppy home.
Travel & Visits
Pickup, Delivery & Visits
Do you offer delivery or transport?
Yes. We regularly work with families located both near and far. Depending on your location, transportation options may be available, including professional flight nanny services for puppies traveling by air. Transportation arrangements and associated costs are the responsibility of the buyer, and details are discussed individually with each family.
Can we visit the puppies?
To protect the health and safety of our puppies, dogs, family, and home, we do not offer public visits to our residence. We understand that welcoming a puppy is an important decision, which is why we provide photos, videos, updates, and video calls throughout the process so families can follow their puppy's journey with confidence.
Do you offer lifelong support?
Yes. Our relationship does not end when your puppy goes home. We are here as a continued resource for guidance, questions, and support throughout your Frenchie’s life.
